Mexico

I think I'll go on down to Mexico
Take a little cash and live like a king
Maybe hear a little music a senorita sings
I think I'll go on down to Mexico
Think I'll find me a black sand beach
Find someplace I can rest my feet
And the sunlight has a certain glow
Think I'll go on down to Mexico
Go somewhere and find some sun
Shine your light
Its always waiting there for you
I'm heading south and rest my mind
Taking time
Where the water's always blue
There's a little place I know
Where we can go
The owner is a friend of mine
Where you can heal your soul
And your body
The best music you will find
There's always time in Mexico
To do anything you want to do
I would be happy just to be with you
I think I'll go on down to Mexico
Yes I would be happy just to be with you
I think I'll go on down to Mexico.

The Leggett Road

Now when you're heading down the highway on the 101
There's still a thousand twisting more miles to go
The trees are casting shadows from the setting sun
You'll be heading into Mendo in just about an hour or so
Well if riding the Redwood Highway and you go to the coast
I'll tell you the truth man, there's only one way to go
There's a turnout or two if the traffic is moving too slow
But nothing else matters you know that you're getting close
Now I'm driving into Mendo with a heavy load
And I'm racing through the redwoods just trying to make it home
Watching the Touristas and trying to keep it on the low
I'm cruising into Mendo on The Leggett Road
Cruising on the Leggett Road
Guitar
There's twenty seven miles of curves and they just don't stop
And try not to draw the attention of the local cops
Well everything is waiting for you at the end of the line
When the work day is over we all gonna have a good time
Keep your eyes wide open and watch out for the man
Its easy to get pulled over in a windowless van
And don't be owning any fifty thousand dollar pickup trucks
You can be in a situation if you push your luck
Like prohibition they're running it through the woods
And the government will put you in jail if they find the goods
Keep your eyes on the road and hope that you're blending in
Come next week we'll do it all over again
Cruising on the Leggett road

The Beginning

When you're waiting for the gun and you're at the starting line
Then you're off and running in the rat race
The ground below is always rushing in to meet your feet
And the wind's always blowing in your face
On the day I turned eighteen I took a van and headed west
Where all the city streets were paved with gold
I played with the rich men and I played with the best
I never dreamed I'd make it to be old
So many days so many nights how could it ever change
Now I feel like the times were never ending
The more things change the more they stay the same
And in the end it feels like the beginning
In the end it feels like the beginning
So I headed for a place of giant trees and fishing boats
Those giant redwoods would always put you in your place
I could always go back to the world that I came from
A world of lights and people always in your face
Then I found the wilderness and island in the sun
A country home where I could go and settle down
Sometimes I feel The wanderlust and then I'm on the run
Feeling loose and then we're headed into town
So many loved so many lost its always going to change
Now I feel that he carnival ride is ending
But I'll fight to see the stage until the very last encore
And in the end as it was in the beginning
And at the end it feels like the beginning
